Hell! The Prison House of Despair (poem)

 Hell! The prison house of despair;

Here are some of the things that won’t be there:

No flowers will bloom on the banks of hell,

No beauties of nature we love so well,

No comforts of home, music and song,

No friendship or joy will be found in that throng,

No children to brighten the long weary night;

No love, no peace, not one ray of light;

No mercy nor pity, pardon nor grace;

No water, No God, what a terrible place!

The pangs of the lost no human can tell;

Not one moment of ease—there’s no rest in hell!

Hell! The prison house of despair;

Here are some of the things that will be there:

Fire and brimstone are there, we know;

For God in his word has told us so.

Memory, remorse, suffering and pain,

Weeping and wailing, but all in vain.

Blasphemers, swearers, haters of God,

Christ rejecters while on earth they trod.

The filthy, the vile, the cruel and mean;

What a terrible mob in hell will be seen.

Yes, more than humans on earth can tell

Are the torments and woes of the eternal hell!

The Creator

 The story of Moses and the plagues of Egypt has often been told to children and grownups alike. Many people think of the old Charlton Heston movie and believe the story to be very similar, others think of the cartoon that was produced more recently.

The one aspect that neither of those videos focus on is the fact that each plague showed that The Lord God Almighty was more powerful than the Egyptian's false gods.

First, Nekhbet, the protector of Egypt, was shown that she could not hold any sway over the Lord God Almighty!

The water turned to blood showed that God was more powerful than the Nile River, which many Egyptians worshipped. It also proved that God was more powerful than Hopi, the god of the Nile.

Frogs coming out of the Nile showed that God was more powerful than Heket, the goddess of fertility and water, and Nephthys, the river goddess.

When the Lord turned dust into lice, it showed that God had the power of creation and was more powerful than Geb, the god of the earth.

The swarm of flies that marred the land proved that God was more powerful than Khepri, the goddess of creation and rebirth, and Shu, the god of the air and wind.

The plague that killed off the cattle showed that God was more powerful than Hathor, the goddess of love and protection, and Osiris, the god of agriculture, vegetation, and death.

The plague of boils on both man and beast proved that God was more powerful than Isis, the goddess of medicine and peace.

The hail that rained down as fire proved that God was more powerful than Nut, the goddess of the sky, and Set, the god of desert, storm ,and evil. and Horus, the god of war and the sky.

The locusts that came and ate all the blooming food that came up after the hail showed that God was more powerful than Seth, the god of storms and disorder, and Osiris, the god of agriculture, vegetation, and death.

The plague of darkness across the land proved that God was more powerful than Ra, the sun god, and Khonsu, the god of the moon.

And the final plague, the death of the firstborn proved that not only was God more powerful than Pharoah, but it also showed that He was more powerful than Osiris, the god of agriculture, vegetation, and death, and Bastet, the goddess of the home and protection, along with Bes, the goddess of mother and children, and Anubis, the god of death.

The Egyptians had many false dieties for many different things. It didn't matter. These ten plagues proved that God was the most powerful!

You can compare these plagues to any of the other ancient gods or goddesses that mankind worship and see that they pale in comparison to the power of the Lord God Almighty.

There is coming a time in the future when mankind will again see that the Lord God Almighty is more powerful than the two most worshipped false gods of this time- Evolution, Mother Nature, and World Peace.

Wars begin and end by His plan.

Revelation 6:4- And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

The forests are His to do with as he pleases. 

Revelation 8:7- The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

God controls the wind and the storms.

Revelation 7:1- And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

Revelation 16:21- And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

God is in charge of the oceans and the sea and the creatures who live in them.

Revelation 8:81- And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

The sun and the moon obey His commands. They shine or wane according to His bidding.

Revelation 6:12- And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Revelation 16:8- And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

Mankind cannot advance medicine enough to outdo God. He has the power to heal and make sick.

Revelation 16:2- And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Their attempts at genetic modification can't even compare to the creatures that He unleashes during the Tribulation.

Revelation 9:7-10- And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Revelation 9:14-19- Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

He even controls death, to kill or keep alive at his discretion.

Revelation 6:8- And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Revelation 9:6- And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

The false gods of the past, present, and future are no match against the Lord God Almighty. He is more powerful and mankind will one day feel His awesome power, but sadly many will not acknowledge Him.

Revelation 9:20-21- And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

The Egyptians felt the sting of the Lord God Almighty's power and their pride caused their entire country to be destroyed. 

Mankind will once again the feel the sting of God's power poured out on a sinful, unrepenting world. Those who are wise will humble themselves and acknowledge their Creator and seek His will for their lives.
