Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.

The Flood: Part 2

After Cain's banishment, Adam and Eve had more kids.
Genesis 4:27-28- And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
So, Adam and Eve had more children, and their children had children, until there were a lot of people on the face of the earth. These people began to call on the name of the LORD. Probably offering sacrifices and praying.
Seven generations down, a man named Enoch was born. It's very important to know about him, because something special happened to him that only happened to one other man.
Genesis 5:21-23- And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
Boy! Did they live a long time! In fact, when the earth was new people lived much longer than they do today. Do you know how old the oldest person was when he died? Methuselah, Enoch's son, lived to be 969 years old.
But, we are talking about Enoch. What do you think made Enoch different from the other people that were living on the earth?
The Bible tells us in Genesis 5:24a- And Enoch walked with God:
Enoch and God were friends! I bet Enoch talked to God about everything! God likes to hear from his children.
Philippians 4:6- Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Psalm 86:5- For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
So, what's the special thing that happened to Enoch?
Genesis 5:24- And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Enoch didn't die!
Hebrews 11:5- By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Enoch was such a friend to God that God decided to take him straight to paradise.
Did you know that? Do you know the one other person that God took straight to paradise? Elijah!
But, did you know that it's all going to happen again?
I Corinthians 15:51-52- Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
I Thessalonians 4:16-18- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
One day, all the saved will be caught up into the air and will go to heaven to live with God! Some people won't have to die! Do you think you'll be one of them?
