"The Snow Globe"
By Pastor Bo Wagner
She sat in her chair, unsure what to do,
For little had gone as she planned,
Her health was a wreck, her check book was bare,
It even took effort to stand.
It wasn't for sin, nor foolish decisions,
She suffered so much on this day,
Yet a tear stained her cheek, as she let out a sigh,
And said, "Sometimes life just goes this way."
Then up on the shelf, her eye caught the sight,
Of a trinket collecting the dust,
She pushed herself up, and reached out and took it,
So careful to not let it bust.
It was so very old, that little snow globe,
T'was given to her as a child,
She brushed off the dust, and shook it a bit,
Then peace filled her heart as she smiled.
Those silvery sparkles, had laid on the bottom,
For years they did not catch the light,
But when it got shaken, and turned upside down,
That globe was a beautiful sight.
She stood there and stared, just lost in the wonder,
Then she put the globe down and she prayed,
"Lord, if it takes shaking, to make me to shine,
Then help me to not be afraid."
Then she put down the globe, and prepared for the day,
Not knowing what shaking would be,
But confident knowing, whatever it was,
She could sparkle for others to see.
