So, how do we at home combat these? Enter oil of oregano.
Oil of oregano comes from the herb oregano. It is distilled from the fresh flowers and leaves of the plant. You can obtain oil of oregano in either concentrated liquid form, diluted liquid form, or capsules. It should always be used in the diluted form, never the concentrated form.
Oil of oregano has the ability to destroy viruses, bacteria, fungus, and even parasites. It can be taken both internally and used topically- diluted. It contains vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, though it's main use is for fighting infections and food born pathogens. Another plus, bugs hate the smell!
I've been using oil of oregano for sore throats for years now! It tastes awful, but you get almost instant relief once it hits the back of your throat. If you need it, but don't really want to taste it you can drop it in some spaghetti and stir it in real well. I do not recommend mixing with water and drinking it- yuck! If you don't like the taste, the capsules would be a better way of getting it down.
