Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.

Healthy Minute- Lyme's disease

Lyme's disease is a bacterial infection that you contract through tick bites. The bacteria is a spirochete, which means that it can travel to different sections of your body. This disease will leave a bulls-eye looking mark around the tick bite. This is one of the fastest growing diseases in the United States and Canada.
The reason this disease is so dangerous is that it is misunderstood, and often mistaken for something else. The number of people who actually have this disease is unknown because doctor's don't normally test for it. Symptoms include rash, joint pain, fever, and can often lead to neurological problems, heart problems, eye and liver problems, and severe fatigue. Unless caught and treated early, it will do irreparable damage to the entire body. It can be treated with intense rounds 2 to 4 weeks of antibiotics.
I know of a few people who have contracted this disease and who have never gotten over it. Even after treatment, the disease can lay dormant in the body until it re-emerges at a later date. By the time you realize it's back, it's almost too late.
This article recounts how a woman's son was having problems and was diagnosed with the Epstein-Barre virus. She herself had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. When trying to research how to help her son, she came across the scary truth: "It was like a bomb went off in my head," explains Tanis. "All of a sudden, my mind was going crazy. I was recalling the fractures each year with Rian (her son) between ages five and fourteen. I remember saying out loud: Rian has had Lyme disease his whole life and he got it from me."
Yes, Lyme's disease can be passed on to your children. My SIL contracted the disease when she was expecting her second child. She couldn't undergo the rounds of antibiotics while pregnant, and so both she and her daughter have the disease. They have many different health problems stemming from this.
