Nourishing Traditions is more than a cookbook. It's one of those books that you just like to look through without the intent of making something out of it.
Author Sally Fallon compiled a list of recipes from the past that not only taste wonderful, but also nourish the body. This book contains the recipes for bone broth, fermented veggies and all-natural fizzy drinks, and some other wonderful recipes from around the world. In the side margins of the book there are notes, stories, and history lessons on the origins of different recipes presented within it's pages.
I've made several of the recipes and they are well written, easy to follow, and pretty delicious; Though there are also present recipes that make me wrinkle my nose!
If you've ever wondered how people kept food fresh without electricity or refrigeration, without the ability to can or freeze, then this is the book for you!
I'm a King James Bible believing sinner saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ! I was raised by a good mother and I went to a KJV church growing up. I am a mother of 5 lovely children and am married to a crazy Cajun for 20 years now! I think bow ties are cool, and grey hairs are like tinsle for your head. I admire those who do right no matter the cost, and wish to avoid those who would compromise the truth.
Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.
