I have had this book for quite a while. It's one of those great books that you don't really like because it goes against everything in today's society, and everything in our stubborn hearts.
Me? Obey Him? is a book on the wife's role of submission to her husband. Written by Elizabeth Rice Handford, this book covers everything you could think of on this subject- Why did God command this? What does the Bible say? Does God mean it? Biblical examples? What about my rights? What if He makes a bad decision?
Submission is very hard because we have a free will. Just because the ring goes on the finger doesn't mean the brain turns off! We women have ideas of how things should go and we have input that we want to put into our marriages- and there's a right way and a wrong way to present them to our husbands.
If you're looking for a book that gives you what God says without excuse on this subject this is it. If you're looking for a book that will help you to be the help meet your husband needs while having him want to hear your input, this book will help. If you're looking for a book to back up why your husband should listen to you and do what you say, you might want to skip over this one.
I'm a King James Bible believing sinner saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ! I was raised by a good mother and I went to a KJV church growing up. I am a mother of 5 lovely children and am married to a crazy Cajun for 20 years now! I think bow ties are cool, and grey hairs are like tinsle for your head. I admire those who do right no matter the cost, and wish to avoid those who would compromise the truth.
Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.
