Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.

The Little Baptist (book review)

The Little Baptist by J. M. Martin is a great book for those who wonder about what makes Baptists different from other Protestant religions. This book mainly deals with the subject of Baptism, but also includes other topics such as kindness to your enemies and salvation.
The Little Baptist, A Young Girl's Look at Plain Truth (full title) is written in story form. This story follows Mellie Brown, a young girl who was given a Bible by her brother as  a present. While reading her Bible, she comes across the story of John baptizing in the Jordan River, and thinks that she must have been given a Baptist Bible, instead of a Methodist one. The reader follows Mellie as she grows into a young lady,  and questions the doctrines that she has been taught with the Scriptures that she is reading daily.
If you have a child, or teenager, that is often questioning why we believe what we believe, or if you are looking for a simple reasoning for one of the corner stones of Baptist doctrine, then this book is for you!
