Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.

Am I Making A Difference?

It is God's plan that Christians should make a difference in our world. When Jesus said "ye are" to his disciples, he spoke of their status and their impact on the world.
Matthew 5:13- Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Matthew 5:14- Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Believers are the seasoning and the preservative force of the earth. God's people protect the earth from decay thru Christian influences, doctrine, and prayer.
Saved people cannot lose their salvation, but they can lose their Christian influence by ungodly living. They can waste their lives. Each believer is salt when he lives in full dedication to the Lord. Salt is actually a great preservative which when eaten preserves the blood cells and blood vessels. Salt can even work in preserving food. For example, salt melts ice so in the winter you can melt the ice from the sidewalk when it snows. Salt is also great for when you have a toothache, put some salt in a glass with warm water and then gargle, it can help keep a tooth decay clean until you can get to a dentist.
Our words and actions should melt the hearts of sinners. It should prevent decay in a wayward person's life. They should be encouraged to seek the Great Physician!
By our words and actions, we should shine the way of salvation. Light is the symbol of salvation and life for a world in spiritual darkness. The darker the world, the brighter the light needs to shine. No one turns on a light and then hides it. It is of no value or use when hidden. And just as plants can't grow or survive without light, neither can Christians. Jesus wants the world to see salvation by His light. We come to him, get our batteries charged, and then shine bright to the world. We are the light that guides the lost, dying souls to the forgiving, merciful God.
When Paul was preaching and teaching in Ephesus, it was summed up in the Bible in Acts 19:20- So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.Paul was accused of turning the world upside down! We don't know how many were actually saved from Paul's preaching, or his testimony! But, think of how many turned to Christ and spread the Word from hearing Paul's converts!
Are you willing to live a goldy life before others? Are you willing to go without stuff that encourages the devil's influence on your life and the life of others? Or is your pleasure more important? Are you a slave to your desires? Have you become an unprofitable Christian in word and deed? Will others be led to Christ by you, or led away from Christ by you?
