Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.

What's The Big Deal About The KJV? (part 3)

One of the problems people hear about the King James Version is that God only inspired the originals. This means that God used men to write His original words, but then they lost their inspiration thru translation. Certain, mostly well educated, people believe that somehow because of sinful man's inability to correctly translate that God's Words lost their inspiration- they weren't preserved.
When God dealt with the Jews in the Old Testament, He led Moses to write His Words in Hebrew for the Hebrew speaking people. Daniel, however, was under Babylonian captivity. His part of the Bible was originally written in the main language of his days, Aramaic. And the New Testament was written in the universal language of the ruling nation so that all who wanted to know God's Words could read them, Greek. God wants people to be able to read His Words, so why wouldn't He give inspired words in the main language to people now-a-days?
I guess the belief comes from the fact that most people don't believe that God can or will do what he says. The same God that rained the plagues on Egypt is still ruling today. He wanted men to have His Words back in the time of Moses and Paul, why would He change His mind about wanting us to have His Words today?
In this next clip, Dr. Sam Gipp covers this argument in a simple to understand way.

Healthy Minute- Kombucha

Kombucha is a fermented sweet tea that can be flavored with fruit. It tends to have a fizzy taste with a bite.
Kombucha is made by adding sweet tea to a scoby (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) and allowing it to ferment for a certain amount of time. After removing the scoby, depending on your preference, you can add fresh or frozen fruit or fruit juice. Allowing it to ferment for a few days will help the flavors to meld and help it build "fizz".

Kombucha is said to help detox the liver and aid in digestion. It also contains glucosamine, so it can help with your joints. And it is very high in anti-oxidants, so it will boost your immune system. It hast lots of probiotics and amino acids, and is thought to help prevent and even treat cancer.
Always brush your teeth after drinking Kombucha, just to make sure you protect the enamel on your teeth.

Believer's Heritage- John Eliot

John Eliot was born in England in 1604 to a middle class farming family. He attended college at a small Institute called Jesus College in Cambridge when he was 14. During this period of time, his father died, but left an allowance of 8 pounds a year for 8 years so that John could continue in his education.
In 1631, he went to Boston in America John became very interested in the American Indians. In 1632, he moved to New England, which was established in 1628 with the purpose of winning Native Americans to the Lord. He met and married Ann Mumford here, and they had six children together.
John was known as a gifted linguist in England. In 1646, John began preaching to the Indians in English. He learned the Algonkian language from prisoners captured by the Puritans during the war between the Narragansett Indians and Pequot Indians. Within a year, he had learned their language, and was preaching to them in their native tongue.
John would use creation to show the power of God. He would teach them the 10 commandments and how God punished those who broke his laws. And, he would answer any questions the Indians had about God.
John wanted the Indians to be able to read and understand the Bible by themselves. He started to translate the Bible into their language in 1658. The New Testament was finished in 1661 and the Old Testament in 1663. The Bible in Algonkian was the first Bible to be printed in North America.
The  “ Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in New England” was founded in 1649 in England to support the work of John Eliot. This is viewed as the first missionary society by some. With their help, John was able to print Bibles, learning Primers, and other materials to help the Native Americans learn and grow.
Through his witness, the Native Americans understood that not only was God great, powerful, and demanding of justice, but that He was merciful and compassionate and would accept all that came to Him through Jesus Christ.
John planted towns for the Indian converts where they could grow and learn to become missionaries to their own people. Over 14 towns with 4,000 converts were raised during his lifetime; they became known as the "praying Indians". John wanted each town to have their own native minister. In 1681, Daniel Takawambpait became the first Native American minister.
For 58 years, John pastored a church at Roxbury and ministered to the Peqout Indians. John Eliot died in 1691, but his memory as the Apostle to the Indians lives on.

Raising A Modern-Day Knight (book review)

How do we raise our sons to be manly men who stand up for truth and right? This was the question that Robert Lewis found himself asking. He looked back to the most noble, manly men he could think of  and found a wonderful answer to his query- knights!
Knights were noble. Their word was something they kept at all cost. Their valour was the stuff of legends. And a maiden could always count on a helping hand and an honorable action.
Is it possible to raise boys in this day and age to become men who knew what was right and wrong? Would he be able to instill in them a code of ethics that was missing in this day and age of men? When someone asked them what a man was, could they answer with certainty knowing that they were one?
Robert Lewis points out a knightly plan for boys of this day and age to grasp the concept of what it means to be a man. He lays out points for how to teach your son to achieve manhood and know he's attained it. And he gives you the code which all young men who want to be noble and true should follow.
This book is wonderful for those who have questions on how to raise those rough and tumble, video game playing, dirt rolling boys to become men. I believe this book would be a benefit to any father out there.
NOTE: This book doesn't use the KJV, so I suggest that you look up the verses for yourself.

Will You Live For Me? (poem)

Throughout the halls of time
A question rings for all.
Many things and people ask it;
Everyone will hear it's call.
Will you live for me?
The doors are all lined up,
All we need is to walk through.
You cannot see the outcome
Or the payment that is due.
Will you live for me?
This door is labeled "family";
Responsibility calls.
Another is labeled "honor";
Placing duty above all.
Will you live for me?
There's one witht he word "religion",
It's a sanctimonious way.
On the other side "Tradition"-
"What to choose?" I say!
Will you live for me?
"Science", "Education", "Position",
So many doors to choose.
What's on the other side?
What's to gain or lose?
Will you live for me?
What's there? An unattractive door
That's at the back of time's hall.
I can barely read the title
"God's will above it all".
Will you live for me?
A payment must be made
For whichever door I choose,
But this door has a little sign,
"I gave my life for you!"
Will you live for me?
