If you read my last Funny Happenings blog post, you will remember that I said that Southern Louisiana people don't know much about Northern winters. Our experience with snow doesn't extend to scraping it off our cars or shoveling it off the sidewalks. In fact, most of the time when we have snow there's barely enough to make a 1 foot snowman, and it is usually completely melted by the end of the day!
So, when we heard that City Park in New Orleans was going to have a machine that would blow snow out for the children to play in, we packed our kids in the car and headed over to let our youngsters enjoy the icy wonder.
After about an hour in line, we were finally up and in the snow. The dainty, white flakes were flitting around us and my two daughters reached down to grab a handful of what we had been talking about for almost 2 hours!
The youngest grabbed a big scoop, and making a face, dropped it and went to sit down on the nearest bench. I was very puzzled as I walked over to her, "Don't you like the snow?"
She looked at me and very angrily said, "That's not snow! I saw snow in the mall and it was soft and warm and fluffy!"
