Sometimes the devil doesn't tempt us with evil; sometimes he allures us with good, distracts us with obligations, confuses us with compromise, or hinders us with business to keep us from that which is best- service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Remember, the devil always offers his best, before Christ will offer His will for your life.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith (audio sermon)

There are plenty of bad fights out there. There are lots of causes that you can get involved in and fight for. But, God asks that you fight the good fight. Your time, your money, your energy should all be spent on the good fight of faith that wins lost souls to Christ. There is no greater cause than that!
We are suppose to present our bodies a living sacrifice. Paul says that it is our "reasonable" service. It's not something that is above and beyond the call of duty. It is common sense after what Christ went through for us!
We should study to show ourselves approved unto God. There are many who gave their lives to bring us the King James Bible! We should hide it's words in our heart so that we won't sin. We should learn what's in it's pages so we can be a blessing to others along the way. And we should know what it says so we can give an answer to anyone who asks us.
The good fight of faith requires sacrifice. Sacrifice comes in many forms- thanksgiving, helping others, doing right. The end doesn't justify the means to God. Are you going to do it His way or Your way? Everyone is making sacrifices for something.
The good fight of faith requires that we abstain from the appearance of evil. Not just evil, but that which doesn't look quite right. If others could look at it and think you are doing evil, you shouldn't do it! Anything that could be used as an excuse by others to reject Christ is something you should keep from doing, because "this isn't what it looks like" isn't going to fly.
The good fight of faith requires witnessing. God wants you to tell others what He has done for you. There are people that will only listen to you. Have you told them about your Savior and the great things He's done for you? You're saved because somebody told you; pass it on!
It's not charging the gates of hell. It's living according to the Word of God day in and day out. It's doing good and right in a time where the world says "anything goes". It's removing anything from your life that would hinder you from being a light in a very dark world. It's telling others the truth.
Are you fighting the good fight of faith?
